This study demonstrates a novel method for fast, cost-effective mid-infrared chemical imaging using non-degenerate two-photon absorption directly on standard silicon-based CCDs, enabling wide-field imaging and videos with high chemical selectivity and minimal complexity.

This study identifies lipochondrocytes, lipid-filled cells in mammalian cartilage, which use de novo lipogenesis to produce stable lipid droplets that influence cartilage biomechanics by reducing stiffness and resilience, providing a unique alternative to traditional extracellular matrix structures.
